Connect any supported PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo controller to a PS5 using the PS4 SPECIALITY method, all with full MOD & GPC scripting capabilities.
👉 This page includes the following important information for PlayStation 5 gaming with the PS4 SPECIALITY method:
👉 The PS4 SPECIALITY method requires a third-party PS4 device as the license donor (we recommend the HORI PS4 Mini-Pad 🛒). You can also use the PS5 Dongle 🛒 (no longer sold. Sorry, chip shortages).

🔴 PS4 SPECIALITY CONS
For your convenience, we've created a Google Sheet which lists all current known PS5 games that support/don't support PS4 third-party licensed controllers. If you have any updates for the sheet, please let us know!
If the PS5 game does not support third-party PS4 controllers but has a PS4 version of the game available (example: Rainbow Six), you will still be able to play the PS4 version of the game with your DUALSENSE controller using the PS4 SPECIALITY method, including full GamePack and script support, without any disconnections. This also covers games like CoD: Warzone 👍
Note: There is one exception to this, Fortnite. The PS4 version (disc or digital) will no longer boot on a PS5. Only the PS5 version of the game now works, so you will need to use PS REMOTE PLAY.
This is a list of known working third-party licensed PS4 controllers that are compatible as a PS4 SPECIALITY license donor controller.
As it is the cheapest, and our preferred choice, we use a HORI PS4 Mini-Pad 🛒, but any on this list should work as a PS4 SPECIALITY donor controller.
You'll know if a license donor controller is not compatible with the game, or not setup correctly, your controller will have no output to the console, or it will disconnect after 8 minutes.
