Windows
Connect your favorite supported PlayStation®, Xbox®, or Nintendo® controllers to a PS5 or PS4 using the official Sony PS REMOTE PLAY app for Windows.
Make sure you have first applied the PS5 Console Settings and Zen Studio Settings before following the steps on this page.
Download the latest PS Remote Play for Windows® (Click here for the official download page). Manually agree to the download policy by checking the box and the Download button will become available. The file is called RemotePlayInstaller.exe; open it to install.
If this is your first time running the PS Remote Play app for Windows®, it will ask you to sign in to the same PSN account (Diagram: 1) as the PS5 you want to game on. Enter your account details (Diagram: 2), select the Confirm and Continue button and you'll come to a screen asking, "Which do you prefer to connect to"?
If asked. select your preferred language, then click OK. The app will now download the PS Remote Play installer file. Open the file and it will ask where you'd like to install.
Click the Next and Install buttons to begin the installation of PS Remote Play for Windows®.
The next screen should show any consoles that are already registered to your PSN account. Do not select PS5 yet, you need to change 3 settings to their lowest values before continuing.
Why the lowest values?
Because you're not actually using the app to play a game like PS Remote Play is designed to do. It is only being used by Zen to send DualSense® controller outputs directly to the PS5 without any disconnections.
Click the cog icon on the left (Diagram: 3), select the Video Quality for Remote Play tab, and apply the following settings.
- HDR: Disable
- Resolution: 360p
- Frame Rate: Standard
Click OK to finish and that's all the setup steps done.
Note: Every time you load the PS Remote Play app in the future, it will immediately ask to connect to your PS5 and away you go. 👍
- Connect Cronus Zen to your Windows® PC using the CONSOLE/PC USB cable.
- Connect a DualSense® controller to A1 and press the PS button to power it on.
- Go to the PS Remote Play app and select your PS5.
- As soon as the PS5 is connected, you can now move from your PC to your TV.
AUDIO: Your headset must connect directly to the Windows® PC running PS Remote Play.
If you are experiencing disconnecting, not pairing the controller, laggy response, no rumbles and no adaptive triggers, then you need to use a powered USB hub with a 5v AUX port. This connects to your PC/Mac and the Zen connects to the hub. In almost every case, this will solve all of these issues.
The Cronus MK Switch + Powered Hub/5v Aux is now available from cronus.shop
- Connect Cronus Zen to your Windows® PC using the CONSOLE/PC USB cable.
- Press Zen's Bluetooth pairing button P2 until the RGBs flash BLUE.
- Hold the CREATE+PS buttons until the DualSense® lightbar flashes WHITE. Pairing should take no more than a few seconds.
- Go to the PS Remote Play app and select your PS5.
- As soon as the PS5 is connected you can now move to your TV.
It's important to know that Bluetooth does not support DualSense® Adaptive Triggers, Rumbles, Gyroscope, or Mic.
Also, Bluetooth pairing between Zen and your controller will be lost if....
- You connect the controller to a console directly by USB
- You connect the controller to a Windows PC directly by USB
- You pair the controller via Wireless adapter to any other device
- You connect the controller to A1 then connect Zen to a console
- You perform a factory reset in Zen Studio
AUDIO: Your headset must connect directly to the Windows® PC running PS Remote Play.
If you wish to game with any other controller, simply follow the instructions above, the only difference being a DualSense® controller connects to A1, and your preferred PLAYSTATION, XBOX, or NINTENDO controller connects to A3, or pairs to the Zen using a Wireless adapter or Bluetooth (if supported).
It will detect as original DUALSHOCK® 4 controller👍
