The latest Zen Studio and Firmware versions are:
1️⃣ Please, read the instructions. Please.
Obvious, right? You'd be surprised how many support tickets we get asking what the latest version firmware and software is, or how to setup Zen with a PS5®, or what Mouse and Keyboards are compatible. This is why it is important to read the instructions first, and yes it sucks to read any kind of docs, but we promise everything you need is right here.
The menu system to your left has been designed so that it is easy to navigate to the exact page you need. It's as simple as 👉 Choose System > Connection Method > Controller Instructions.
For example, if you want to know how to setup a wired DUALSHOCK 4® for PC gaming, simply navigate to Step 3 - Choose Your System 👉 Windows PC > Connect by USB > PlayStation Controller (USB) and you'll find step-by-step instructions for that exact setup - no guesswork and no confusion.
There's also a dedicated Cronus Hardware Tests guide that helps you resolve every possible error and solution in just a few minutes, without having to wait for an answer.
2️⃣ Please use the correct channels
Please make sure you are posting to the correct channel when asking for support. There's a lot going on with Zen. Thousands of scripts, hundreds of different controllers and mouse and keyboard combinations. So, you can imagine how difficult it is to keep everything organized and managed so that the right answers can be given to questions posted to the right channel.
It's pretty straightforward, Mouse & Keyboard questions are posted to Mouse & Keyboard channels, GamePack questions to the relevant GamePack channels, and so on.
3️⃣ Asking for help
Let's start by showing you how NOT to ask for help...
"my controller is disconnecting" "ps5 games are not working" "it's not working" "anti-recoil isn't working"
Your first move is to check the Known Issues page to see if your problem has already been reported, then test to see if any of the provided solutions work. You will find all known bugs reported to that page and updated in real-time.
If you ever have a support question, we need the following five pieces of information:
- The exact controller/mk model you are gaming with and any A1 donor controllers you are using.
- The exact console/pc model that you are gaming on and the game you are trying to play.
- A link to the exact instructions you're following.
- A screenshot of Zen Studio's Device Panel with everything connected (you can use Windows Snippet or Gyazo - great free tools for screenshots).
- A description of your problem so that it can be reproduced and be sure to use the correct button/label names (see below).
SCRIPT WARNING
While we have control over the GamePacks available in Zen Studio, we have no control over GPC scripts available in the GPC Library, Cronus Community, Discord, and other places, you should ALWAYS assume that any script could possibly be detected.
The simple solution is to update to the latest version of the GamePack, but if you really need a particular script, then you should speak to the script author to confirm if it has been updated or not.
DONATIONS
All scripts are freely available in our communities. However, if you want to give the developer a donation for their efforts, many of the top guys listed above have donation links, which I'm sure they would be extremely grateful for.
Disclaimer: 100% of any donation goes directly to the great GPC script developers - they're the ones who put the long hours in. Sometimes hundreds of hours with work split between 4-6 devs just to get the entire weapon table after every game update. These guys are unpaid community volunteers and the backbone of the script scene! ~ Charlie/MaxADMIN
