STEP 1: Update Firmware
Please disregard previous versions of Zen firmware and Zen Studio. The new firmware functions independently from other tools.
HUGELY, GINORMOUSLY, ABSURDLY IMPORTANT
Listen up people, this is important stuff:
- In Zen Studio , don't use the Tools > Firmware Update option. Even if it suggests updating to the latest version, it'll only go up to Beta 50 and you'll get dumb "Firmware Version Incompatible" errors.
- The newer firmware has its own standalone update tool, which you will find in the instructions below.
This video walks you through updating to the latest firmware using the tools on this page.

Plug your Cronus Zen into a computer using the CONSOLE/PC USB port.

Press and hold Zen's blue reset button until the OLED screen displays 'Zen Bootloader'.
Note: If the screen is blank, unfortunately the Zen is faulty and needs to be replaced.
Open the Firmware Tool and your Zen should be displayed. Click on it.
NO DEVICES FOUND
If the firmware tool displays No Devices Found or some other error, see the Firmware Troubleshooting Guide.

Hit 'Begin Update'. In 18 secs, your Zen will be rocking .👌
Unplug the rear CONSOLE/PC USB cable from the Zen. Keep it connected to the PC for STEP 2: Install Zen Studio
