TROUBLESHOOTING

This guide explains how to troubleshoot issues that you might encounter while using the Cronus Zen.

Master Checklist

This checklist has proven to resolve thousands of user's problems. If you fail on one of the steps, be sure to explain in detail what steps you have followed up to that point, and exactly what the error is that is stopping you from using your Zen.

When troubleshooting hardware/controller issues, the Zen must have no active memory slots (The Zen Gear Head Logo should be displayed on screen).

  1. Did you read the Readme.1st page yet? If not, do that.
  2. Always check the Known Issues page in case your problem is already listed.
  3. It's always a good idea to perform a Hard Reset whenever you are having issues. This will erase all memory slots.
  4. If you are having trouble with Zen Studio, check the Zen Studio Problems page for solutions.
  5. If you are having trouble with the firmware, check the Firmware Problems page for solutions.
  6. If you are having problem setting up your controller, be sure to visit Step 3 - Choose Your System as this section will direct you to targeted instructions for all supported systems and controllers, including guides for each possible connection, USB, Bluetooth and Wireless adapter.
  7. If you are having problems setting up your Mouse and Keyboard, be sure to visit Step 1 - Setup Mouse & Keyboard as this page guides you to get any supported mouse and keyboard connected and working within just a few minutes.
  8. If you are having problems with a particular GamePack, they each have their own instructions guide and at the top of the page you're given links to a dedicated Forum Community and Discord Support Channels.
  9. If you are having problems with a particular script, you should either ask the author of the script or use one of the many GPC scripting support channels available in the Cronus Discord and Forums.

No Fix. Now what?

If you've tried everything on the Master Checklist, and you are still getting a connection or programming error, then unfortunately, your Zen may have developed a fault, so you should return it to the original point of purchase for a new replacement under its warranty (all purchases from the official store get a 90-day warranty - or a 12-month warranty if you purchased one of the MEGA BUNDLES).
