Having trouble updating your Zen? Here is a list of firmware tool error messages and solutions.


IMPORTANT
If this is what you see when you open the Firmware Update Tool, it is actually the older 'official public' version that will only update to 2.1.0 Beta 50.
What you really want is , which has it's own standalone update tool. You can find it at STEP 1: Update Firmware.

No Devices Found

This error usually happens due using the wrong USB port, or a faulty USB cable. Here's a list of proven solutions. If these don't resolve the issue, it might be best to get a replacement.
- Ensure the USB cable is plugged into the correct CONSOLE/PC USB port.
- Test with a different USB cable; yours might be faulty.
- For Mac users with the newer M1/M2 chipsets, BootCamp isn't compatible. Instead, try using VMware Fusion Technology Preview 2023 👉Free Trial.
If you've tried all the above and it's still not working, your Cronus Zen might be defective. Please refer to the Warranty Instructions for the next steps.
Firmware Version Incompatible

- You are either not running Zen Studio , or you haven't yet updated Zen's firmware to .

- This happens when you have other software open that is also connected to the Zen (another update tool, or Zen Studio).
Firmware: 0.0.0

- An update was interrupted so the firmware is now corrupt, but not faulty.
- If this solution didn't work, unfortunately your Cronus Zen has developed a fault. Scroll down to the Warranty Instructions for what to do next.
Network Error

- Your internet provider or firewall is blocking access to our server.
Stuck on Flashing Firmware...

- Unplug all the USB cables from the Zen and reboot your computer, that should clear the problem.
Unexpected Error

- This usually happens if programming was interrupted.
- Unplug all the USB cables from the Zen and reboot your computer, that should clear the problem.
USB device not recognized

- This usually means the PC USB port isn't getting enough power. Try another USB port, or a powered USB hub like the Cronus MK Switch.
- It can also mean you have Windows USB driver issues. Here's a screenshot of the built-in Windows drivers used by Cronus Zen for your reference.
