🎧 WIRED HEADSETS

Third-party Xbox controllers do not support a wired headset. However, in some cases, you can connect the headset directly to an original Xbox controller connected to A1 (any supported crossover or third-party Xbox controller connected to A3).

You could also try adding a second original Xbox controller directly to your Xbox console, enabling co-pilot and connecting the wired headset to that. Here's how you enable Xbox co-pilot:

  1. Connect a second controller to the Xbox for the copilot. The copilot can sign in or not - achievements and gamerscore don't go to this player.
  2. Using the pilot's controller, press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select Profile & System > Settings > Accessibility > Controller.
  3. Choose Co-Pilot Settings, then select Turn on Co-Pilot.
  4. Select the Co-Pilot controller. You can now connect a wired headset to the Co-Pilot controller.

To turn off Copilot, go back to the Copilot settings and select Turn off Copilot.

We do however recommend that you use a wireless headset, or one that connects directly to the console and not the controller. To find out why, see the Wired Headset Users page.
